Pirelli riders get results in Germany - SBK

By Pirelli Press Release (translation)

Excellent performances by Pirelli riders in the German round of the World Superbike Championship: the two DFX Team Ducati riders, Martin and Borciani, have been the authors of a great first race finishing respectively in 6th and 7th place. Borja, the third DFX/Pirelli pilot, fell in the third turn of Race 1 which was won by Neil Hodgson. The British rider keeps on leading his triumphal march but in the Race 2 he has had to bend under the fantastic performance of JamesToseland.

Race 2 was a repetition of the first, and the three Pirelli riders were able to increase their Championship Standing: Martin was the fastest of the three (6th place) followed by Borja and, in 9th position, the Italian Borciani.

In the Championship, Pirelli is getting more and more competitive, with Martin’s 8th place, Borciani’s 9th and the 12th position for Borja. Pirelli received very encouraging feed back from a new compound used for the front tire in both races under different temperatures. Pirelli efforts are continuing non-stop and with promising results here in Oschersleben, that have been confirmed by the stop watch: with riders running about ten seconds faster than the 2002 race.

We are looking forward the the next challenge in two weeks time at Silverston, England.

Team DFX Ducati and Steve Martin prepare for Race One at Oschersleben, Germany.
